When is consultation with a cardiologist needed?
If one has:
- shortness of breath;
- feeling of lack of air;
- chest pain;
- pain in the area of the heart;
- sensation of accelerated or irregular heartbeat;
- loss of consciousness;
- dizziness;
- high blood pressure / uncontrolled blood pressure;
- swelling of the lower limbs (shins).
Which pathologies can a cardiologist help with?
- ischemic heart disease (angina, myocardial infarction);
- heart defects (heart valve disease: mitral insufficiency, mitral stenosis, aortic stenosis, aortic insufficiency; atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect…);
- aneurysm of the thoracic aorta;
- life-threatening rhythm and conduction disturbances (atrioventricular blocks, sinus node weakness syndrome, other types of tachy- and bradyarrhythmias), which require the implantation of a pacemaker.
In our Center, cardiologists are also doctors of functional diagnostics. This makes it possible to simultaneously conduct a consultation and an ultrasound examination of the heart (ECHO of the heart) in one room, by one doctor. It is really convenient! A patient does not need to make an appointment with two doctors, at different times, and sometimes on different days, and repeat their complaints twice.
